“Your Mom called me…”

Only Iranian kids who grew up in the United States know how awkward the moment your friend turns to you and says, “Your Mom called me and asked me to, please make you study.”  This happened to most of us on more than one occasion.  Our parents never thought our friend would tell us and when they do, they don’t care they say “Areh goftam, dars nemikooni.”(yeah, I told her, you don’t study).
